Options For RC Helicopters

There are actually many different types of RC helicopter and each of the have their own perks and drawbacks. So if you are in fact serious about buying something like this which one should you go after? The thing to know about these is that you are going to have to build them and then learn how to fly them. Not to mention that the best ones are quite expensive. So here is a bit of help when it comes to choosing one.

Gas

Many people consider this type of helicopter to be dying out simply because people are just not buying them anymore. There do seem to be two reasons for this. These are by far the most pricey out there and this is something you need to think about especially if it is your first buy. Another reason is of course that they are tricky to fly. Without actually being sat down and shown what eveything is it can be hard to fly these things.

Nitro

Nitro is the one that is next on this list and this is a very difficult one too. The reason this time isn’t because of the price, although they are still expensive it comes from which to choose? There do seem to be a lot of sizes when it comes to this one and this is the thing that can be a bit annoying for a first time buyer. The reasons why I wouldnt go out and buy one of these is simply because there is one more type that is best.

Electric

This is now the most commonly used RC aircraft and this is down to the fact is it is the cheapest and easiest to pick up for novices. One of the main points about this one that you need to take into consideration is that you will not get as much flight time.

Of course if this isn’t for you, perhaps you should try Airfix aircraft.

Gravity-defying cars developer to further Investigate Security And Military Applications

Do you remember my post July of last year entitled GRAVITY-DEFYNG RC Cars by 2010?
Well, we have an update on that. Its developer seemed to step up a notch on the possible Security and Military application of their "Patented Adhesive Technology" .

MajicWheels Inc. (MJWL.OB), a leading developer of gravity defying remote-controlled toy vehicles, informed that the company is intends to further investigate additional applications for its patented climbing device technology in the areas of security and military in 2010.

Potential applications could include installing a digital camera on a remote controlled device, and transmitting video or photographs to security and military personnel.

MajicWheels’ patented technology currently enables its remote-controlled vehicles to traverse a variety of surfaces, including those that are steeply inclined, completely vertical, or even inverted altogether.

MajicWheels currently holds the rights for two “climbing device” patents. A fully-approved patent has been registered to the company in Israel. A patent-pending application has similarly been filed in the United States.

“MajicWheels technology is now being studied for its use in various fields,” informed MajicWheels CEO Asher Zwebner. “The adhesive already enables us to make great toys, and we believe that the climbing capabilities of our remote-controlled cars can eventually be utilized throughout several other areas. In particular, we are now studying the use of the adhesive to aid in security applications for buildings and reconnaissance gathering military applications.”

About MajicWheels

MajicWheels brings innovation to the industry of radio-controlled toy cars through its groundbreaking, patented climbing device technology. MajicWheels intends to become a leading player in the climbing device radio-controlled toy car world, offering countless hours of fun to youth in the 6-12 year-old age bracket. Models will be offered in several aesthetically pleasing designs, and a variety of colors.

Radio Controlled Helicopters

RC Helicopter Operated with Voice

Radio Controlled Helicopter is not a unique toy anymore, but following newly added auto obstruction detection and voice command capability will add a great surprise for your kids. This RC Toy is built by Nikko and is called the Voice Controlled Voice-Heli and although it is voice controlled it still comes provided with a traditional RC unit allowing you to fly it with a controller rather than voice.

Sensors are built in to the helicopter that can sense the ceiling and if detected the helicopter will stop rising rather than you having to panic.

iPhone as Remote Control for RC Helicopter

When you fly a Remote Control Helicopter, one of the hardest things to learn is how to control the remote helicopter that is facing towards you. When the helicopter is facing away from you, all the controls act pretty much like they do when you are flying a real helicopter. If you want to go forward, you push the control forward, or away from you. But if a Radio Controlled Helicopter is facing towards you, pushing the control forward makes the helicopter come at you.

The solution to this problem has always been to put a little camera and a radio transmitter on the helicopter and fly it by looking from the point of view of the helicopter. With the Parrot AR Drone, you leverage the radio and video display already existing in your iPhone. All that is needed is a helicopter camera that works over WiFi.

There is no reason why this idea wouldn’t work on any Remote Control helicopter (or RC boat / car / truck / plane / hovercraft / or what have you, for that matter, though I don’t think it works well with tank) but the helicopter and submarine are probably the most visually compelling idea.
